Grief Lines Writing Workshops

GRIEF LINES

Our culture provides few spaces or rituals for us to express and share our stories of grief. However, telling our stories of grief is necessary for our healing. To address this need,  I am facilitating an on line workshop called Grief Lines, a safe and welcoming place to write about the grief  you carry and to share your story with compassionate witnesses who are also bereaved.

My beloved son Jonah died following a car accident in 2013 when he was 29. It took me ten yers to write my grief memoir, Pine Melody. While writing the story of the accident and its aftermath, I discovered that Jonah had became my spirit guide. Writing my way through this journey of loss taught me something I now teach as a Certified Grief Educator–grief that is witnessed can help us find meaning.

This workshop is for anyone who carries grief– for a parent, child, partner, friend, pet, or a hoped-for outcome that never materialized. Whatever the source of your grief, you are welcome here.

Each session,  I will provide the zoom group with a prompt drawn from the universal themes of my memoir, Pine Melody. We’ll each write for 12-15 minutes. Then, in breakout groups of 4-5 people, we’ll take turns reading what we have written. There is no discussion of the content, just gratitude for sharing your story with compassionate witnesses. Sharing in this way helps you to make meaning from the loss you have experienced.

You are invited to join a cohort that will meet 3 times on consecutive Sunday afternoons for a special introductory rate of $45. After that, you can drop in for any scheduled session at $25 per session. Sessions will begin in September, 2026.
