Grief Lines Writing Workshops

GRIEF LINES

Our culture seldom provides space or ritual for people to express and share their stories of grief. However, telling our stories of grief is necessary for our healing. To address this need,  I am facilitating an on line workshop called Grief Lines, a confidential place to write about the grief  you carry and to be witnessed compassionately by others who are also bereaved.

I’m Stacey, Jonah’s mother. Jonah died following a car accident when he was 29. My grief memoir Pine Melody is about how Jonah became my spirit guide through his life and his death. Writing my way along this journey of loss has taught me something I now teach as a Certified Grief Educator–grief that is witnessed can help us find meaning.

This workshop is for anyone who carries grief– for a parent, child, partner, friend, pet, or hoped-for outcome that never materialized. Whatever the source of your grief, you are welcome here.

Each session,  I will provide the zoom group with a prompt drawn from the universal themes of Pine Melody. We’ll each write for 10-15 minutes. Then, in breakout groups of 4-5 people, we’ll take turns reading what we have written. After reading, each person in the group will thank the reader. No discussion, no advice, just gratitude for sharing your story with compassionate witnesses.

Initially, it is advisable to join a cohort that will meet 4 times for $100. After that, you can drop in for any scheduled session at $30 per session,
